Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Common Thread
A COMMON THREAD (Brodeuses) is a French movie written and directed by Éléonore Faucher in 2004. It earned the Critics Week Grand Prize at the Cannes Film festival.

Claire is a pregnant teenager who has already decided not to keep her child once he'll be born. She tries her best to hide her condition from her family and her colleagues. She spends a lot of time embroidering and she's lucky enough to find a new job at Mrs. Mélikian's place. Mrs. Mélikian, who has just lost her son in a moto accident, embroiders for haute couture designers. Soon, a quasi-filial relation uprises between the two women.
