| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Hoodwinked |
"Hoodwinked," begins at the end of the classic tale with Littler Red Riding Hood, the Wolf and the Woodsman gathering together in Granny's bedroom.
Determined to find answers, police arrive at the residence for a domestic disturbance call involving charges of breaking and entering, disturbing the peace, intent to eat, and wielding an axe without a license.
Thinking the case might be related to the Goody Bandit, a thief that is stealing all of the recipes from candy shops near the forest, police Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork start to arrest the Wolf, but all of the suspects are given a chance to speak when frog detective Nicky Flippers starts an interrogation.
It is then learned that all of the suspects are not who they seem. Red, who delivers sweets around the forest for her Granny, knows karate, the Wolf is an investigative journalist modeled after the "Fletch" character played by Chevy Chase, the Woodsman is not really a lumberjack but rather an actor trying to get a part in a foot cream commercial and while Granny might seem like a sweet old retired lady, she actually spends most of her time winning extreme sports trophies.
All of the suspects get a chance to tell their side of the story, and it is soon found out who the Goody Bandit actually is. Once the criminal is uncovered, all of the characters must work together to stop him from executing his plan of closing all of the sweet shops.
