| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Black Rainbow |
BLACK RAINBOW is a British production written and directed by Mike Hodges in 1989.
Martha Travis and her father Walter present each night an act in the churches of small Eastern towns. Martha says that she can speak with dead people and the audience is invited to converse with their departed next of kin through her. One night, Martha tells a woman that her dead husband Tom wants to speak to her from the next world. The only problem is that her husband isn't actually dead at all.
When, on the next morning, the poor man is murdered in his home, journalist Gary Wallace takes an interest in the case. Ted Silas, a wealthy industrial, is also interested in Martha as he's the one who hired a hitman to murder Tom because he was about to alert the federal administration about the poor security protocols of Ted Silas's factories. When Martha reveals that she actually knows the face of the killer, Silas asks his hitman to eliminate her.
