| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Weather Man |
David Spritz (Nicholas Cage) works as a weather man for a local Chicago television station. He is less than happy with his life as he has recently gone through a divorce.
It seems that everything is a mess. His kids seriously misbehave, attempts to win back his former wife (Hope Davis) are thwarted, no one respects him in his work, he feels like he walks in his father's shadow and people even through food at him for fun. To top it off, he finds out that his father (Michael Caine) has terminal cancer.
Through all of these struggles he has one hope. He believes that if he lands a job as the weather man on Hello America everything will fall into place. He in convinced that this will straighten out his kids, fix his broken marriage and gain the respect that he wants as well as a nice salary increase. He ends up with an interview for the job in New York and is one step closer to his dreams.
