| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Royal Wedding |
Based on a story by Alan Jay Lerner, Royal Wedding stars Fred Astaire as Tom Bowen, a singer and dancer in an act with his sister Ellen Bowen (Jane Powell). The movie opens up with a song and dance number with Tom and Ellen. Afterwards, Tom gets a message that their agent wants to meet up with both of them. It then that they find out they have been booked for a show in London, which happens to be at the same time as the Royal Wedding. Tom and Ellen go by cruise ship and its here that Ellen meets Lord John Brindale. There are a couple more song and dance numbers with Tom. When they arrive Tom meets Sara at an audition. The movie continues with the song and dance as Tom and Ellen deal with their love lives.
