Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Hazard of Heart
The evil Lord Wrotham is entranced by the young and beautiful daughter of Sir Giles Staverley, Serena (Helena Bonham Carter) and determined to get her by any means. When losing everything in cart game to Lord Wrotham, Sir Giles impulsively staked his daughter's hand in marriage, expecting to win all back this time. But he didn't stand a chance and shot himself in the next room, didn't know that his daughter's fate now in the hand of a new winner, Lord Justin Vulcan (Gilbert Marcus). Pleased that he saved the poor girl life, Lord Vulcan had no interest in seeing the girl in person. However, urged by his curious friends, they made a visit to Staverley's mansion. Unexpectably tunned by the beauty of Serena, Lord Vulcan arranged her to move in to his mother's mansion at Mandrake. Sensing her son's interest in Serena, the merciless stoned-hearted Lady Harriet Vulcan attempted to eliminate the young girl.
