| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Kansas |
Wade Corey (McCarthy) met Doyle Kennedy (Dillon) when they were both fare-dodgers on a train to Kansas. Wade didn't know that Doyle had a criminal record and was planning to rob the local bank. When Wade knew what was happening, a gun was pointed to his head and he was forced to aid Doyle.
Things didn't go smoothly when the alarm bell suddenly rang and they were chased by people and police in all direction. Wade luckily got away with all the money while people saw only Doyle and assumed he was the only robber.
On his way to escape the town, Wade happened to saved life of a little girl who got stuck in a car which was hit off the bridge into the river by a speeding police car chasing after the bank robber. More police and reporters were coming to the scene but the hero had mysteriously disappeared.
Wade got a job as a mechanic at the Bayles farm, intended to earn a few bucks before heading on. But to make matter worse, Wade stuck in a whirlwind of romance with the Bayles' daughter and Doyle was coming back threatening to reveal Wade's true identity to the world.
