| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Gallant Sons |
Gallant Sons stars Gene reynolds as Johnny Davis, the son of reputed gambler Harlan Kiefer 'Natural' Davis. The movie opens up with Johnny and his friend Byron (Jackie Cooper) talking about who should be appointed their baseball team manager. Byron appoints Johnny to that position despite the fact that Byron's father Barton writes about Natural's supposed criminal activities in the paper. After a raid on Natural's gambling establishment goes sour, Barton has his crew follow Natural where upon they find him with a dead women. Looking guilty as can be, Natural doesn't tell the truth and is sentenced to 10 years in prison. This causes a big rift in Johnny and Byron's friendship and they fist fight on the ball field. Soon Byron and Johnny come to their senses and agree to investigate the case to prove once and for all whether Natural was guilty of murder or not.
