Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Epidemic
EPIDEMIC was directed by the Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier in 1987.

Lars, a director, and Niels, a script writer, do have a slight problem. The screenplay they were supposed to give to their professor, after 18 months of work, has disappeared from the memory of their computer. Now, they just have five days to write another script they decide to name "Epidemic". The story will describe the effects of a plague affecting Denmark. The two students question a scholar at the City Library and start to write and to imagine their movie. On the next day, they drive to Germany to visit a few industrial cities whose shady atmosphere inspires them greatly.

Three days later, they invite their professor home and give their screenplay to him. Lars and Niels have anticipated their professor's disappointment in front of their twelve pages script and have therefore asked a medium to come and "feel" the events described in "Epidemic".
