| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Pandora's Box |
At the start of the film, Lulu meets with her lover, Schon, a wealthy publisher. He's upset about having to end their affair, as he's about to marry a respectable woman. Lulu soon goes to work for Schon's son, the producer of a musical show, who is also infatuated with her. Soon Schon, with his fiancee and son in tow, makes the mistake of paying a backstage visit to Lulu. When she refuses to dance with Schon's fiancee present, Schon tries to shake Lulu to her senses, which sexually arouses him and they make love. His fiancee discovers them in flagrante delicto and calls off their engagement. Schon decides to marry Lulu instead, despite her questionable background. Even at their wedding, however, Lulu exhibits lascivious behavior, leading to tragic results.
