| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The First Time |
This movie was made in 1969 and background music was the "hip" music of the times. Perfect fill-in for a story about teens who are looking for their first girl to make love to. Kenny (Wes Stern) goes off to Buffalo to visit with his grandparents. While there he writes his buddies about the posh life he's living and how he's visited the "bordello" across the Canadian border at Niagara. It's all a brag to make himself sound cool. But then his buddies (Rick Kelman plays Mike and Wink Roberts plays Tommy) show up for a visit. They want to see this "Rosie's" where Kenny has seen all kinds of girls. Unfortunately it was all talk and Kenny has to stall since he has no idea if even such a place exists. He just built up a story about himself because he always feels inadequate next to everyone else. While thinking up a plan they stop in a "strip club" in Canada. A girl making a phone call (Bissett) overhears them talking and asks them to take her back across the border into America. They think sure we'll do her this favor and then we'll ask her for one. To give them that first sexual experience they are looking for. What they don't know is she's not a "loose" woman, just because they saw her at that bar. At the same time, she does not know they have an alternative for helping her. Eventually they will all figure out what is going on and reach a happy conclusion.
