| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about United 93 |
On the morning of September 11, 2001, a bunch of average Americans board a United Air Lines flight out of Boston. Also aboard are four Muslim terrorists bent on hijacking the westbound plane to a target in Washington, D.C. Air traffic controllers in Boston, New York, New Jersey, and Washington (some played by the real people who were on those jobs on that day) watch jets go off course, disappear from their flight paths, and begin to strike ground targets. Because of its delay in taking off, United 93 is behind schedule, and its passengers get news of the other events up and down the coast via their cell phones. Although the terrorists have killed the copilot, an attendant, and a passenger, they decide to take matters into their own hands. This is a sober, terrifying, documentary-like reconstruction of what happened across the country on that day, and what might have happened aboard flight United 93.
