Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Match Point
MATCH POINT was written and directed by Woody Allen in 2005.

Chris Wilton, a former professional tennis player, has been just engaged as tennis professor in an exclusive club of the suburbs of London. There, he makes the acquaintance of Tom Hewett who presents Chris to his family. The Hewett family is a wealthy member of the English upper middle classes. Chris falls in love with Chloe, Tom's sister, and agrees soon the proposal to work in one of the companies belonging to the Hewetts. But, unfortunately, he's also sexually attracted by Nola Rice, the tempting American fiancee of Tom Hewett.

A few years later, Chris and Chloe are married and they still do not have children in spite of their efforts while Tom did not marry Nola Rice after all but an English girl more in conformity with the standards of the Hewett family. One day, Chris meets by chance Nola Rice in the street and starts with her an impassioned extra-marital adventure. But when, a few months later, Nola announces to him that she's pregnant and that she does not want to abort, Chris promises to her that he will break with his wife and marry her. However, the days pass and Nola becomes impatient: she more and more often calls Chrîs and does not hesitate any more to call at the Hewett's when she does not manage to find her lover. Chris, who decided not to leave his wife, sees only one solution to settle this situation: to kill Nola Rice.
