| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about End Game |
Alex Thomas (Gooding) is a Secret Service agent assigned to the President and First Lady (Archer). At a public appearance, a gunman shoots at the President from the throng of admirers. Thomas dives to deflect the bullet. It passes through Thomas's hand and is deflected into the head of the President. Despite the medical team's best efforts, the President dies. Thomas blames himself.
Thomas's superior (Woods) gives him leave to recuperate, but Thomas is eager to find out more about the shooter's motive. So, too, is investigative freelancer Kate Campbell (Harmon). When three of the people she has cursorily interviewed turn up immediately dead, she turns her attention to Thomas who may be involved or able to unravel the intrigue.
As the plot unfolds, it appears the shooter was a puppet for a shadow government agency known for its previous rogue dealings. Thomas and Campbell become convinced someone in the government is involved. Thomas turns to a general in the know (Reynolds) for assistance and information when none is forthcoming from within the Secret Service. He is little help other than to warn Thomas that as he continues to probe, he may not like what it is he is sure to find.
