| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Seven Days to Live |
Directed by Sebastian Niemann in 1999. After the accidental death of their son, Ellen and Martin Shaw move in in an old house lost in the countryside. Martin is a writer and must find the inspiration. But Ellen will suffer from hallucinations from the first day in her new house. Somebody seems to want to inform her that she does have only a few days to live and tells her each day how much days remain before her death.
As to Martin, his behavior changes complétement during these few days; he becomes irritable, shuts himself up for hours in the cellar and makes fun of the anguishes of his wife. Ellen, finally, will learn, by questioning her neighbors, that, 23 years before, there was a murder in her very house. She returns home, with the intention to convince Martin to set out again for the city but her husband has become completely insane, he blows her and finally tries to kill her.
