| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about World Trade Center |
The latest film from Oliver Stone tells the story of two Port Authority cops involved in 9/11. It concentrates on the heroism of victims, rescuers and their families.
Much of the disaster, realistically recreated through CGI, is shown through the eyes of John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno, law enforcement officers enlisted in the rescue effort. Part of a team called to Twin Tower One after it's hit by the first hijacked plane, they're unnerved by the resulting devastation. When the second tower is hit, their squad is buried in an explosion, and they're the only two to survive. Seriously injured and unable to extricate themselves from the rubble, they keep each other going with banter and by periodically banging on pipes, hoping to attract the attention of rescuers.
At the time same, the film details their families' tearful reactions, as well as the bravery of their rescuers who are determined to find every last survivor. Tension mounts as they try to save the two cops, knowing that sudden explosions could end their lives at any moment.
