When someone begins killing off all of the top spies around the world, wisecracking secret agent Matt Helm (Dean Martin) fakes his own death.
Assigned by I.C.E. chief MacDonald (James Gregory) to find a missing scientist (Richard Eastham), Helm goes undercover in Monte Carlo as a Chicago hood. Teaming up with the scientist's swinging daughter (Ann-Margret), he soon discovers a plot by wealthy madman Julian Wall (Karl Malden) to build a giant death ray that will wipe Washington, D.C. off the map.
Now, Helm must battle a sultry femme fatale (Camilla Sparv), an indestructible, steel-capped assassin (Tom Reese), and Wall's private army to rescue the scientist, the girl, and the world.
