| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby |
In this movie the main actor is Will Ferrell who is playing a character named Ricky Bobby. His character is a devoted and talented NASCAR driver. His life, at the beginning of the movie, is pretty perfect since he has become a champion and the number one NASCAR racer due to his devotion and the strong friendship between him and his team.
The story of his life is that he was abandoned by his substance abusing father and in his early age Ricky(Will Ferrell) fell in love with driving fast and it became the mission of his life apart from his aim of winning his father's love and respect.
Everything was smooth sailing for Ricky until the trouble came and the trouble comes in the form of a flamboyant French Formula One driver, Jean Girard (Sacha Baronthen) who comes to NASCAR racing. He smoothly travels up the charts and soon becomes a threat to the position that had been Ricky's for a very long time.
Ricky is then put through the difficulty of hanging on to his position aswell as his friends.
The movie has action, adventure, comedy and sports. It's a complete package with some great funny moments. Although the jokes do seem to be forced at some places in the movie but most of it contains some real good tricks played by Will Ferrell. The movie also contains some crude sexual humor due to which viewer discretion is advised and the movie is rated PG-13.
