| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Jawbreaker |
Popular teen girls Courtney Shane, Julie Freeman and Marcie Fox plans a birthday prank on their best friend, Liz Purr, the most likable member of all the girls. Courtney isn't that fond of Liz plans the whole thing to keep her "friend" from running for prom queen. Courtney persuade the girls to kidnap Liz as they stick a jawbreaker in the bewildering friend's mouth then gag her in order to keep quiet. She is then to be sent into a back of a car trunk supposedly to be aware moments later of her friends trick. But the scheme is only half executed as Liz is dead, choked to death by the result of a jawbreaker. Courtney comes up with a thought; setting up Liz's death by taking her home in her bedroom, to look as she is strangled from perverted sex. However nerdy Fern Mayo walked in on the girls. As Fern is now a witness, Courtney want to keep her hushed as the return of favor by giving the geek a complete makeover and become part of the group. Mayo's outward appearance is more appealing, her name is changed to Wylette and her confidence rise up. On the other hand Julie slowly removes herself from the group of girls. Fern's popularity soars high to the point of competing against Courtney as prom queen. On the other hand, Julie wants to break the secret once and for all about Liz's actual death.
