Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Strangers With Candy
Prequel to the TV show of the same name, Strangers With Candy is about Jerri Blank, a middle-aged woman who goes back to high school to pick up her life where she left off before she became an imprisoned junkie.

Living with her mean stepmother and stepbrother, Jerri's only wish is for her father to wake up out of a coma. She comes to the conclusion that the only way to wake her father up is if she wins the school science fair.

The problem is that Jerri is dumb and unfocused, and also neglects her science fair partners to try to fit in with the popular kids. Also working against her is her in-the-closet science teacher Mr. Noblet, who doesn't want Jerri on his team.
