| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Flying Tigers |
A group of Army pilots known as the 'Flying Tigers' are called upon by China to fight the Japanese before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Short of planes and men, the Captain, Jim Gordon, calls on an old friend and hotshot pilot, Woody Jason, to join the squad.
Jason's arrogance soon alienates him from the rest of the men. One night, when Jason misses a flight, Jim's second in command and his best friend, Hap, who's been medically grounded takes his place and is killed. Jim grounds Jason and orders him to leave the squad.
The Colonel informs Jim about a train bringing supplies to the Japs. Jim takes on the dangerous mission of filling a cargo plane with explosives and prepares to take out a bridge.
As Jim climb aboard, the plane begins it's takeoff and he discovers Jason flying the plane to try to make amends for his mistakes.
Jim and Jason take out the bridge amidst heavy enemy fire.
Jason is hit and wounded. And, instead of bailing out, he shoves Jim out and returns to the cockpit. He flies the plain into the supply train, destroying it and becoming a hero.
