Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Best Men
On a warm summer day in rural Independence, four boyhood friends return to their hometown to attend the fifth's wedding.

The groom, Jesse (Luke Wilson), is being released after serving three years in prison as the result of Sol's (Mitchell Whitfield) faulty lawyering; Teddy (Andy Dick) has spent the last decade trapped in his own marriage, a loveless charade; Buzz (Dean Cain) is a decorated Green Beret dishonorably discharged for reasons unknown; and Billy (Sean Patrick Flanery) is a failed actor with a dark secret.

Billy breaks off and informs the group that he has to make a last-minute stop at the local bank. When his friends become impatient and head back to the bank, they discover that their friend is, in fact, "Hamlet," a notorious bank robber who likes to quote the Bard.

Things go from bad to worse when the local sheriff (Fred Ward), who happens to be Billy's father, shows up and lays siege. But that's nothing compared to the arrival of Special Agent Hoover (Raymond J. Barry), a ruthless FBI agent with more than a few "issues."

Now, with the willing help of the hostages, including a half-crazed Vietnam veteran (Brad Dourif) who also had designs on the bank, Jesse, Billy, Buzz, Teddy, and Sol must find a way to get out of the bank, and out of town, in one piece.
