Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Wild
Ryan, a lion cub at a zoo accidentally gets trapped in a crate headed to New York.
Ryan's dad, Samson, and his friends, Benny the squirrel, Nigel the koala, Bridgette the giraffe and Larry the snake hide in a garbage truck headed to New York. They make it to a shipyard and see the crate on a ship. They hijack a boat and follow. They all end up on an island where the animals are being rescued due to a volcano. Samson is able to find Ryan.
However, a herd of wildebeasts tired of being at the bottom of the food chain decide become carnivores and they attack Samson and Ryan. Samson falls off a cliff and Ryan is taken captive.
Samson lives and with the help of his friends is able to rescue Ryan and stop Kazar, the tyrannical leader of the wildebeasts.
The rest of the wildebeasts join Samson and the other animals on their boat and escape just before the volcano explodes.
