| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Running With Scissors |
This movie is about neat but sharply observant Augusten, he is a 6-year-old kid. This movie shows 70's era. Poor little Augusten is caught between his troubled parents. His mother Deirdre is an unpublished and unstable poet with illusion of being a hugely famous poet; his father Norman is an alcoholic and teaches math. Norman gave up trying to understand the mystery of his wife's problems and his also gave up trying to understand his son's precocious behavior.
When the marriage of Augusten's parents goes to pieces, they sign up for therapy with the weird shrink Dr. Finch. Dr. Finch fails to save the marriage of Augusten parents and his life takes an even more wrenching turn. Augusten is sent to live in the Dr. Finch family home, a kind of Brady-Bunch-gone-bad world but Augusten is a brave kid, he never loses morale. Soon Augusten unwittingly becomes part of the family.
This movie is rated R for strong language and elements of sexuality, violence and substance abuse. Distributors are TriStar Pictures and Production Co. are Samuels Media Capital, Plan B. Filming Locations are Los Angeles, California, United States.
