| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Silent Movie |
Brooks play as Mel Funn, a recovering alcoholic that has thought of a idea to bring silent films back to screen (and make a big comeback for himself)- regardless the long gone days of the silent era and the fact that movie goers are used to sound rather than complete silence. This doesn't stop him as he finds it rather interesting so he gathered his friends Marty Eggs and Dom Bell to help create the biggest movie in the year.
But the problem is that the film company he is working at is about to go bankrupt and the top executive Studio Chief is in need of fast money to save the company from going kaput, if media moguls Engulf and Devour takes over. Thanks to Funn's idea of a movie, he looks for big-time celebrities in their time Burt Reynolds, Liza Minnelli, Paul Newman, James Caan and Anne Bancroft others parodied in the film.
With all these A-list celebs featured in the picture, hopeful Funn and his friends is determined to make their film a success while at the same time, overcoming the hurdles of Engulf and Devour standing in the way to avoid the filmmaker from creating his picture.
