| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Knight In Camelot |
Dr. Vivien Morgan (Whoppi Goldberg) is an obsessed physicist who has been working on the sum for years. She eats, sleeps and lives in her lab hoping one day for a breakthrough.
Suddenly all of the bells and whistles begin to go off. Her data has aligned and her theory is proven. In her celebrations she fails to notice a critical data error. Dr. Vivien is suddenly transported back through time.
She lands with a thump to find herself at the point of a lance. Her welcoming committee consists of Sir Sagramour (Robert Addie) who is a not very nice knight in King Arthur's (Michael York) court. He believe she is an ogre and is determined to present her to Queen Guinevere ( Amanda Donohoe) as a gift. She gathers her goods (including her laptop) and is escorted to the castle.
There she is placed under the guard of a page boy named Clarence (Simon Fenton). He is curious and kind and she talks him into giving her the computer. A lucky break for her. For they are planning on burning her at the stake and this gives her a chance to look up some life saving information.
As the moment of execution draws near, she announces that she will make the sun go out if not released. No one believes her until is actually happens. Of course they have no way of knowing it is an eclipse. She is immediately granted knighthood as a great sorceress. She is now Sir Boss with extended privilege.
She makes the best of the situation and begins to wander the kingdom. Seeing how hard the peasants work and for so little grieves her. She comes up with an idea to help the simplify some of their work which really annoys the resident magician Merlin (Ian Richardson). Merlin is then determined to make her life hard from this moment on.
Sir Boss aka Dr. Vivien believes so much can be done in the kingdom. She decides that she wants to tour the lands outside of the castle walls and the king agrees. But only if he can go along. Though reluctant, she agrees and they set out.
All is merry until their little group is picked up by slave traders. They cannot tell them that this is the king or he may be held for higher ransom. They are sent to prison to await their moment on the slave trader's auction block.
Meanwhile, Queen Guinevere is romancing with Sir Lancelot (James Combs). She is secretly hoping that the king will not return and Lancelot will become her new king. With the moments ticking away, Sir Boss, the king and Clarence conspire for escape. Will the break free before it is too late?
