Review Summary and Plot Commentary about American Dreamz
Written and directed by Paul Weitz in 2005. President Staton has just been relected and is REALLY tired now. He doesn't want to leave his bedroom and reads Canadian newspapers. His chief of staff begins to become slightly nervous as he doesn't know what to tell the journalists anymore. But, helped by the President's wife, he will forced his boss to take anxiolytics and to accept to have in his ears a receiver through which he will tell him what to say. The next step to take in order to increase Staton's popularity which has dramatically dropped, is to ask Martin Tweed, the well-known producer and frontman of the TV show "American Dreamz" to invite the President to assist live at the last program of the season.

Meanwhile, Martin Tweed's team is searching for the candidates who will ensure the highest ratings for American Dreamz. Two candidates seem to have a good chance to reach the final of the show. Sally Kendoo, a Californian girl who's ready to bury the hatchet with her boy friend William Williams in order to become the star of the emission and Omer Obeidi, a young Afghan, who was selected by mistake instead of his cousin. After the first emission, Omer is contacted by an Arabic terrorist group which requires of him to do everything to reach the final of American Dreamz in order to be able to approach President Staton and to detonate the bomb he will carry. But Omer decides finally not to murder the President and leaves the bomb in the toilets of the studio. William Williams who should have proposed to Sally Kendoo in front of the audience just after her song, sees Sally and Martin Tweed making love. William finds the bomb in the toilets and decides to commit suicide in front of the cameras.
