Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Errand Boy
Written and directed by Jerry Lewis in 1961. T.P., the big boss of the Paramutual studios in Hollywood, would like to know why he loses money in the administration of the studio. He then decides to hire Morty S. Tashman, a naive but somewhat dumb guy, in order to use him as spy in his organization. Morty, who is unaware of his true status, starts to work as a runner at Paramutual Studio.
From the first day on, Morty is then responsible for a long succession of disasters in the studio. Hired by mistake as an extra in a musical, Morty starts to sing with the main actress to the great despair of the director, he creates confusion in the editing rooms, in several other Paramutual's departments and, finally, among the secretaries who are typing the dialogs of the actors. Morty is noticed by a famous director from NYC who's sure that the young boy has a future in the movie business as a comic.
