Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The World's Greatest Lover
Rainbow Studios head executive Adolph Zitz is seeking the next very handsome and charming man in a lead role for his upcoming movie "The World's Greatest Lover". Zitz is competing against rival movie production company Paramount Pictures leading man Rudolph Valentino. The casting call was at an all time high as thousand of men tried out for the role all over the country.

Rudy Hickman, a baker from Milwaukee that is known to be a nervous wreck, is one of the many competing to be Rainbow Studios next sensation. He eagerly makes his way to Hollywood along with his mild-mannered wife Annie to get ready for a test screening. Changing his his name to Valentine, that is not the only new alias Rudy takes on.

Staying at a very expensive hotel, Valentine makes a scene along with his cousin Buddy, pretending to be a chauffer to Rudy and widely screams that he'd seen a big time star. The hotel manager Tomaso Abalone, even fell for the act and treated Rudy and Annie visitation to the hotel as a big deal, as if thery were Hollywood stars. But soon enough as Rudy anxiously waiting for his test screening as an actor, Annie among many of Rudolph Valentino admirers get the chance to meet handsome star, Annie is taken aback by Valentino's charm, romantic style and runs off with him. Rudy gets the news and does just about everything- including taking on the character as the real Rudolph to win his wife's love back.
