Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Wife vs. Secretary
Van and Linda Stanhope have been happily married for married three years with so much adoration and love for one another. A special day finally arrive for the two and Linda assumes that her husband has totally forgotten of their wedding anniversary. Successfully cutting a trout after a time of struggling to get it open, to her surprise a beauiful diamond necklace is found inside. Apparently Van didn't forget after all.

But the Stanhopes long vacation comes into an end so Van is ready to get back to work at his office. He is immediately greeted by his young and attractive secretary Helen "Whitey" Wilson, (which he nicknamed her) who'd finished redecorating his office. After his appreciation for her helpfulness, he decide to take Wilson along with on a business trip to seal the deal with a owner of a maganize company he just bought out. Wilson only came along to help with the contract of the purchase.

Before they go on the trip, the two discuss their plans in a tight phone booth so any other competitiors in his room doesn't hear about his bid and try to bring in stiff competition. However Van's mother Mimi and Linda stops by the office and sees the two in the booth. Mimi brings all kind of thoughts to Linda that her son and the secretary is having an affair. Linda's mind is clouded with this thought and assumes that her husband is two-timing her when he is apparently not. But Linda has her "proof" when Wilson answered the phone at a hotel Mr. Stanhope is staying at during the business trip. Having enough evidence she needs, Linda packs her things and announce to her husband that she is filing for divorce.
