| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Picnic |
During one Labor Day, Hal Carter comes into a small town to visit his rich and good friend Alan Benson. Benson may be the ticket for financial prosperity since his father has an opening for a well-paying office job Carter is considering.
During his visit, he meets Benson's girlfriend, Madge Owens and her little sister Millie. The two sisters are opposites, Madge is more lively and flirty whereas little Millie is bit more reserved. But the two have one thing in common; their eyes are set on Carter, though they are not the only ones. Also living with the sisters is a alcoholic schoolteacher named Rosemary, besides her drinking that gets her through the day, thankfully she can depend on her easygoing and funny boyfriend Howard Bevans.
With women behind him and a propective job that awaits him, Madge and Carter forms a loving relationship, depsite Madge having a man already, a man who is the best friend of her secret lover. However things will start to heat up during a Labor Day picnic. Will it be a possibility that the truth may come about the couple's secret love affair and may cost Carter's friendship with Benson?
