| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Clockers |
Co-written and directed by Spike Lee in 1995. Victor and Ronald 'Strike' Dunham live in an suburban "project" in NYC. While Victor has got two jobs and tries to live an honest life, Strike is a "clocker", dealing drugs for Rodney Little. One day, Rodney asks Strike to murder Darryl Adams and promises the young boy a more interesting job in his organisation. The same evening, Strike hesitates before commiting this crime and meets Victor in a bar near Darryl's house. Later, Darryl is found dead but we don't know who has murdered him.
Det. Klein and Mazilli investigate the murder and, soon, Victor surrenders claiming he's the murderer. While Det. Mazilli wants to close the case, Det. Klein doesn't believe in Victor's culpability and starts to harrass Strike in front of his friends. Rodney Little becomes more and more nervous, fearing that Strike talks to the policemen about his own implication in the murder. Klein notices Little's edginess, arrests him and convinces him that Strike has denounced him.
