Joe(Helen Hunt) and her group of tornado chasers are chasing a huge storm of tornadoes to use Dorothy, their scientific invention for studying tonadoes. Her ex-partner and ex-husband, Bill(Bill Paxton), comes along with his new fiance to get his divorce papers from Joe and ends up going with them on their tornado chase only to realize that maybe he misses it more then he had thought.
