| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Love is Better Than Ever |
Anastacia Macaboy is a gorgeous and very young dance instructor from New Haven, Connecticut who visits New York City for a dance convention. It's her first big trip by herself without her mom, whom she is very close to, and she immediately runs into trouble in the form of ladies' man Jud Parker, a fairly well-known theatrical agent. Anastacia, who is also much younger than Parker, is swept off her feet as he shows her the city--baseball games, racing tracks, boxing, fancy dinners and clubs. The worldly and experienced Parker believes he is just having a good time and when the totally seduced and smitten Anastacia realizes this, she heads home brokenhearted.
The only problem is, Anastacia has sent news home about Parker and in her small town community, everyone is now excited about the prospect of Parker and Anastacia getting married. With her father's help, Anastacia takes a huge personal risk, a gamble to lure Parker in return, by confirming the rumor of their engagement and sending word to Parker to back her up so that they can then break it off in public. Concerned about his reputation, Parker agrees and Anastacia goes to work on him by being as alluring and desirable as she can. Then, when she wants him to go through with the break-up and shows Parker how courageously she's willing to face a small town scandal, the tables are really turned.
