| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about California Suite |
It is the eve of the Oscars and four different couples are having some type of bad situation all at the same time. The movie starts off with divorce couple, Bill and Hannah Warren who'd rented a suite in a fancy Beverly Hills suite to have a serious discussion regarding who will take care of their daughter Jenny. The girl recently ran away from her mother due to her cunning ways and stayed with Bill as he is more of a sweeter parent between the two. Jenny enjoys the laid back living she has on the West Coast with her father but Hannah want to bring her daughter up in a more proper upbringing instead.
The next couple is Diana Barrie, a actress that is nominated for a Oscar herself and with her husband actor Sidney Cochran, both share the same hotel as the Warrens as they await Barrie's big night. The married couple happily spends their night having sexual risky encounter together but Diana realizes the secret her husband finally reveals to her- that he is bisexual. While trying to grasp the idea that her husband is attracted to men and not let it ruin the upcoming night of the Oscars, the next couple of folks that is encountered is doctors Willis Panama and Chauncy Gump, who'd each brought their own families to Beverly Hills for a nice relaxed vacation.
But the goofy Gump messed up the vacation with his silly antics which brings the men wives arguing with one another and the two doctors at each other throats. While Willis, Chauncy and their wives sort out their differences, one more couple, Marvin is unexpectantly caught by his wife.... after sleeping with a young blonde hooker, lying passed out drunk in the couple's room. Time moves very slowly for Marvin as he tries to explain the reason why a woman other than.. spended "personal time" with her unfaithful husband. Every one of these people has a story to untangle but will it get all sorted out before Oscar night?
