| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Circle |
It's 5 a.m. in the morning. A hired killer is waiting in a motel room; he must kill, at 6 a.m., a man called Rick, who lives nearby. Dad, the man who put a contract on Rick, has just called to see if everything was OK and to tell the hitman that he was sending to him by e-mail a photography of Rick and his wife. Suddenly, the doorbell rings : Jay, Rick's wife, is here. The killer recognizes Jay at once and forces her to come into the room. Jay tells the hitman that she knows that he must kill her husband. She tries to convince him not to do it and manages to persuade him to drive her to Dad's.
There, she first meets Hilga, a lap dancer, who tells her that Rick is one of her favorite customers. Then, Jay sees Dad and, after a long discussion, obtains the insurance that Rick won't be executed. The hitman, who violated an important rule of the underworld, by telling the name of his employer to Jay, commits suicide before the arrival of Dad's bodyguards. Jay returns home. Rick is unhappy because of Jay's intervention and tells her that Hilga told her the truth about their relation. Jay kills Rick. Written and directed by Yuri Zeltser in 2004.
