| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Playing the Ponies |
Three fools, Moe, Larry and Curly, own and run a restaurant.
One day, two race horse owners are scheming for a way to get rid of a horse that they believe is no good anymore. Sensing that the three men are suckers, they trick Moe, Larry and Curly into trading them the restaurant for the broken down old horse.
Curly, thinking they're peanuts, accidentally feeds the horse, Thunderbolt, some hot chillis. His mouth on fire, Thunderbolt runs for the water trough and they discover just how fast he is.
They enter Thunderbolt in a race. Larry serves as the jockey and feeds Thunderbolt more chillis. Moe and Curly, riding a motorcycle, carry a bucket of water in front of Thunderbolt to get him to run. Thunderbolt, chasing the water, blows by the rest of the horses and wins the race, winning Moe, Larry and Curly five thousand dollars.
