Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Back to the Future
Marty McFly, a teenage boy, is accidentally sent 30 years back in time. Here he finds out how his parents lived their teenage lives. Marty interferes with his parents past and it effects his later existence. Marty must now fix his parents relationship and get back to the future before it is to late.
--Mark, Resident Scholar

Marty McFly doesn't think his parents were ever teenagers. That is until he steps inside a time-travelling DeLorean, and goes back to the year, 1955. Once there, he accidently stops his parents from meeting, thus him and his older brother and sister, would never even been born. To make matters worst, his mother falls in love with him. Now Marty has to put them together to fix things. And Biff Tannen, the big bully on campus isn't going to make his assignment any easier.
--Estefan Ellison, Resident Scholar

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd may have top billing in this film, but the real star is the flying DeLorean sports car. It involves a lot of time travel between the past and future.
--Teddy, Resident Scholar

A teenager goes 30 years in to the past, has to make his parents fall in love, and has to have the time machine get struck by lighting so it can send him home.
--Dan Podlubny, Resident Scholar

This movie is about a 17 year old boy, Marty Mcfly, who hangs around this scientist, Dr. Emmett L. Brown. Well, Doc invents a time machine and while the test to see if the time machine worked, a group of Libyan Terrorists shoot Doc. Marty goes back in time to the year 1955. He finds his dad and accidently stops him from marrying Marty's mom. Marty's mom has a crush on him so it is up to him to get his parents to get married and give birth to Marty and his 2 siblings.
--Mike Cardarelli, Resident Scholar

Marty McFly, a 17-year-old suburban kid in suburban California, accidentally gets sent 30 years back in time by a machine created by his friend Doc Brown. Marty finds himself in 1955 and accidentally alters the circumstances of his parents' first meeting, so that his teenaged mother takes a shine to him and his future father may get left out in the cold. He's got a week to try to fix this mess, get his parents together, and escape back to his own time. This 1985 film, which had two sequels, is charming, witty, and delightful. Fox is fine, Lloyd is hilariously nutty, and Crispin Glover makes his first big appearance as a goofy screen character -- Marty's Dad.
--David Loftus, Resident Scholar

Marty McFly, a skateboarding teenager with dreams of becoming a famous musician, lives with his loser parents--a constantly drunk mother and a dorky father who has cowered from his boss since high school. By chance, Marty is sent back in time to the 50's in a time machine built by his best friend "Doc" and accidentally interupts his parents' first meeting, thereby endangering his own existence. As Marty's own life hangs in the balance, he must somehow get his parents back together, and at the same time, find a way to get BACK TO THE FUTURE.
--Aaron Love, Resident Scholar

Marty, a teenager in the 80s, accidentaly travels 30 years back to the past, 1955, in a time travel machine built into a Delorean car by his eccentric scientist friend Dr. Brown. There, he meets his future parents, which causes a change of events which eventually affects his future and that of his parents. Hence the paradoxical title Back To The Future. This is a comedy-drama-scifi movie.
