A bunch of chickens make many attempts to escape their cruel owner. After being shot out of a cannon, a circus rooster lands in the chickens' coop. The chickens think the rooster can teach them to fly to freedom. Unable to fly, the rooster disappears, leaving the chickens to fend for themselves. Unhappy with egg sales, the farmer buys a machine to turn her chickens into chicken pies. The chickens build a flying machine and are able to escape before being turned into pieces.

Things are dreary at the Tweedy Egg Farm. The day a chicken fails to lay an egg, she gets slaughtered for her meat by Mr. and Mrs. Tweedy (voiced by Richardson, who plays the more sinister of the owners). Ginger (Sawalha) is convinced there's something more to life, and tries to rally her compatriots to escape. Then Rocky Rhodes (Gibson), a flying rooster from the U.S. who has escaped the circus, falls into the yard after injuring a wing. In exchange for hiding him from the circus, Ginger and her friends ask him to teach them to fly so they can get away. But can they do it soon enough to elude the automatic chicken-pie making machine Mrs. Tweedy buys to boost the farm's profits? This 20000 claymation parody of "The Great Escape," the first feature film by Nick Park and Peter Lord, the makers of "Wallace and Gromit," quotes a number of past war prison camp films, and is a fun piece of work.

A great movie from the creators of Wallace and Gromit. Ginger is a chicken who is desperate to escape the egg farm that she and her friends are situated and are constantly pressured to make their egg quota. Then, Rocky the Rooster, drops by (literally) and promisses to help them fly, the only problem is, he doesn't know how to himself, but what the chickens don't know, won't hurt them...or will it??

In a gentle spoof of the famous war movie The Great Escape, this movie tells of a the desperate plight of chickens forced to produce eggs on demand. The chickens attempt again and again to escape unsuccessfully, until a "flying" rooster shows up and promises to teach them all to fly. This surprisingly funny movie will entertain both adults and children in its amazing claymation effects and hilarious humor.
