Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Superman II
Lex Luthor escapes from prison and travels to Superman's icey lair. There, he learns how to free 3 Krypton criminals, all having the powers of Superman.
The 3 criminals come to earth to destroy Superman and rule the world. Superman battles the criminals, but they overpower him. He retreats to his lair.

Lex leads the criminals to the lair. The criminals force Superman into a molecule chamber that takes away his power. However, being prepared for such a situation, Superman had reversed the chamber's effectiveness; while he was safe in the chamber, the criminals had their powers taken away.
Superman easily defeats the criminals.

--Brandon Swenson, Resident Scholar

Lois Lane thinks she has it figured out that Clark Kent is Superman. soon they fall in love and Superman gives up his powers so they can be togehter. Meanwhile, three Kryptonian criminals are accidentally released from the Phantom Zone and start to take over the world, with the help of Lex Luthor. Our hero's sense of duty forces him to give up his personal happiness to save the world. Filmed concurrently with the first Superman movie, this film has much the same flavor and even more impressive super-feats. However, it seems to somehow lack a bit of thrill.
