| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Mad Dog And Glory |
When meek police photographer Wayne Dobie (Robert De Niro), mockingly nicknamed "Mad Dog" for his lack of courage, stumbles into the middle of a convenience store robbery, he finds to his surprise that the life he saves belongs to Frank Milo (Bill Murray), a shadowy gangster who moonlights as a standup comic.
In gratitude, Frank "loans" Wayne Glory (Uma Thurman), a bartender at Frank's comedy club who owes him because of a debt incurred by her brother. Although Frank at first refuses the "gift," he slowly begins to fall in love with the beautiful Glory.
When Frank demands that she return to his employ, and offers to sell her to Wayne for more than he could possibly afford, the shy cop realizes that he must stand up for something for once in his life, or lose the only woman he has ever loved.

Wayne 'Mad Dog' Dobie is a shy, easily intimidated man who works on the police force photographing crime scenes; his real dream is to become an artist, and around his apartment he proudly has on display the finest crime scene photos he's taken. One day he happens to save the life of a mobster, Frank Milo, who is also an aspiring comedian. Not one to leave debts unpaid, Frank thanks Wayne by sending him a beautiful girl, Glory. She is working for the mobsters (one of her family member's owes him money), and so she is forced to be Wayne's "companion" for a week.
Wayne doesn't quite know how to handle the situation. He doesn't want to get himself involved with criminals, and yet Glory would get in trouble with the mobster if Wayne sent her back early. Plus, she's very pretty. Soon Wayne finds himself falling deeper in love with her, and doesn't think he'll be able to part from her when the time comes for her to return to Frank.

A romantic comedy about a crimescene photographer who happens to save a crimeboss' life and is awarded with the criminal's slavegril, who is been owned by the gangster due to the girl's brother's dues. Apparently, the police falls in love with her and tries to save her... A decent comedy with nothing new to offer, but still something to spend those useless two hours with.
