Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Jesus of Nazareth
Franco Zefferilli takes on The Big One: filming a movie about the life of Christ. In "Jesus of Nazareth," he does an outstanding job of presenting The Savior with the fewest objections from various Judeo-Christian corners. Zefferilli seems to capture much of what must have been the essence of Jesus, especially his earthly, human-like endeavors, sufferings, and joys (few they were!), tracing his birth to the divine Ressurrerction. Anne Bancroft, Ernest Borgnine, James Earl Jones, Stacy Keach, Anthony Quinn, Sir Laurence Olivier, and Peter Ustinov are just a few of the stellar actors in this film.
