| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Viridiana |
VIRIDIANA is a movie directed by spanish director Luis Bunuel that has won the Cannes Festival 1961 Palme d'Or.
Viridiana is a young girl who is about to make her vows as a nun. Just before this decision, she spends a few days at her uncle's farm who tries one night to rape her. This event changes completely her life.
A lot of sarcasms about religion in this movie which was condemned by the Vatican and not shown in Spain until 1977.
A classic.
