| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Starship Troopers |
Johnny Rico, (Casper Van Diem) was a citizen of Buenos Aires, and blindly in love with his class mate Carmen Ibanez, (Denise Richards). When she decided to join the fleet academy, upon thier graduation, Johnny decides to join the military as well. While these two starcrossed lovers are in training, their hometown is attacked by the "bugs" from Klandathu, which puts our hero Johnny into the mobile infantry, and in direct conflict with the bugs on their home turf. This movie has passable special effects, and alot of violent scenes. Michael Ironside puts in his typical stalwart performance, as the heros teacher and later his commander.

Casper van Dien and Denise Richards sign up for military service against the alien Arachnids who threaten to destroy Earth. Agreeable mindless action, but falls massively short of the book's intelligent treatment of war and soldiers.

A leave your brain at the door, science fiction gore fest. Cheesy lines, bad actors but the CGI bugs and explosive battle scenes make this a thouroughly enjoyable bug hunt.

It deals with ateenage couple who are (more or less voluntarily)joining futuristic Armed Forces, which gives them citizenship in a modern society that is being run by the Armed Forces. While the guy becomes a grunt and sees cruel Basic Training, his girlfriend becomes a pilot and leaves him. The guy sees action when war breaks out and falls in love with an ex-classmate who has also joined up. The guy and his ex advance thru the ranks quickly and finally face the final conflict with the evil aliens.

A loose adaptation of Heinlien's book of the same name, Starship Troopers follows a group of recent high-school graduates through the military of the far-future and into battle against the Arachnid Threat.

A cheesy action movie, loosly based on the book by Robert A. Heinlein. Humanity is at war with a vicious alien race of giant spider-like bugs. A action packed war movie with blood, gore, flying limbs and decapitation, explosions, and guns. Not much in the way of good acting or involved plot, but a great movie if you are in the mood for maximum carnage. Rent this one when the wife/girlfriend is out and you and a couple guys want to watch stuff being blown up, and people and aliens getting pulped.
