| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Fall of the House of Usher (1928) |
THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER is a silent movie directed by french director Jean Epstein in 1928 with Luis Bunuel as assistant director.
One will find in this movie several themes treated by Edgar Allan Poe in his short novels, Epstein having freely adapted the short novel that gives the movie its name.
Roderick Usher is painting the portrait of his beautiful wife but the more he gives life to the portrait, the more she becomes pale and weak.
A classic.
