| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Billy Liar |
Stuck in the Yorkshire town of Stradhoughton in the 1950s, Billy escapes reality by retreating into his own fantasy-world where success comes easy, he gets his way with all the girls, and life is excitement all the way. Back in the dreary routine of everyday existence, he finds himself trapped by the fact of adulthood and the responsibility that comes with it.
