Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Spiceworld
Essentially, this is a 90-minute music video from The Spice Girls, the British girl group who were popping up just about everywhere – even the big screen – in the late 90's. The girls go through a whole mess of campy, over-the-top shenanigans including an alien encounter, dance boot camp and delivering a baby all while trying to evade the bothersome paparazzi. Most of the scenes are set to their music, of course. The movie is also littered with celebrity cameos including Elvis Costello, Bob Hoskins, Jonathan Ross, and Elton John. Richard E. Grant plays the group's tyrannical manager and Meat Loaf is their Union Jack tour bus driver.
