| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about My Best Fiend |
MY BEST FIEND is a documentary directed in 1999 by german director Werner Herzog about his relations with actor Klaus Kinski who was the lead actor of five Herzog movies before his death in 1991.
MY BEST FIEND includes interviews of Herzog, Eva Mattes (Woyzeck) and Claudia Cardinale (Fitzcarraldo) as well as footage shot during the filming of AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD. Enjoy also a rare footage of Mick Jagger performance in FITZCARRALDO before Jason Robards's illness stopped the production.
Was Klaus Kinski a psychotic or a genius ? The movie doesn't answer this question but is a superb homage to a friendship that produced numerous cinematographic masterpieces.
Highly recommended.
