| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Vera Cruz |
VERA CRUZ is a western directed by Robert Aldrich in 1954.
Gary Cooper is a southern gentleman who has lost everything he owns in the Civil War. He leaves home for Mexico and meets Burt Lancaster, a no-good cowboy without any morals. With a bunch of mercenaries, they accept to fight for the emperor Maximilian against the Juaristas. But they soon discover that 3 million dollars in gold are hidden inside the wagon they have to protect from the attacks of the revolutionists.
A superb western.
