| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Longest Yard |
THE LONGEST YARD, directed by Robert Aldrich, has been theatrically released in 1974. Burt Reynolds is a former football player sent to prison for robbing his (ex-) girl-friend's sports car and resisting arrest. The Warden is a football fan who wants Reynolds to organize a team of inmates able to play against the guardians. Funny and cynical.
